Runtime Error - How to Fix Runtime Errors a Quick as well as simple approach

Runtime Error! by valentin.d

Are funny things going on within your computer? Does your computer automatically send up porn site images, or change the homepage on your browser. Are there icons on your desktop you did not add?

Of you answered yes to any of those questions in the proceeding paragraph, your computer may be infected with spyware, or adware. They can be a pain in the butt to remove, but if you do not remove them, you are doomed to their effects.

Okay so what exactly is spyware you ask. Well spyware Spyware refers to software that monitors your Internet access or whatever you are doing on your computer. These programs run in the background, usually without you knowing that it is working and most of the time you never even realize that it has been installed.

Some spyware may be there to watch you closely and see what sites you visit. The information is reported back to the company who sent it and that company will then sends you ads targeted to sites as you visited or will send you ads to sites you would never visit like porn ads. Spyware is not nice no matter how you look at it.

Some spyware may record passwords and credit card numbers as they are typed in and this can result in identity theft. I am sure you can image the harm that can do.

Adware, which often is identical to spyware can also come from unscrupulous companies. Adware is spyware that monitors your access for the intent of delivering advertisements. Spyware may display pop-up ads no matter what software you are using, but most spyware instead burrows into your internet browser to show ads based on your surfing habits. It is mostly internet explorer that is effected so an easy fix would be to use some other browser such as firefox.

These and other types of malicious software also called malware can cause all kinds of problems. Depending on what is installed within your computer you may see a changed homepage, or pop up ads displaying ads to sites you may or may not visit. You may see your computer slow down in response time. You might see desktop icons of web sites that are linked to porn sites or other unsavory sites. Internet explorer may crash and just before the crash you will see a little alert box about a runtime visual c++ error.

It does not stop there, if some unscrupulous company installs a dialer on your computer, it will make your computer dial 900 numbers, which are charged, to your phone bill, or over seas numbers. As one, can image a dialer can bankrupt you or at least strap you with tons in phone charges.

It can even cause your anti virus and firewalls to stop working. With no virus protection, you are at every bad programmer's mercy. Then you might as well toss your computer out the window because it will be useless.

This is yet another reason to keep that anti virus software running all the time. Keep it updated to block out spyware, adware, malware and of course viruses.
